Speaking as the daughters of a cancer patient, I'm sure that my dad was very happy with the visits he got from palliative care. However, he was not aware of his prognosis and was/is at the moment quite confused about many issues. Therefore, I know I speak for my sisters when I say that I wish we had been involved in some of the visits. There are questions I would have liked to ask, I did meet someone when I happened to be there at the same time, but that was coincidental.

I feel that I and my mother (patient) were treated with compassion and understanding.
Support given by all staff.

Help to allow my mum to understand (in care home) (Alsimens) and bring together.
Make dad more comfortable without being over sedated.

The doctors were great and the nurses but I was very angry to of found out that my mother was told when she was on her own and then to have been told my dad was told on his own. This should never of happened and I'd like to know why it did my mum felt she could not do this form as it really broke her up.

My father had advanced heart failure it was only by reading internet pages that I discovered he should be treated as a palliative care patient.
We were not referred by the hospital doctors. The doctors should be referring such patients themselves.

Used A and E here. It was very busy and the waiting room needs refurbishing but the clinical areas were very clean.Had to wait but that was understandable as there were people in a worse state than me. Had stitches to a deep cut and the nurses were very professional, personable and had good senses of humour as the cause of my injury was quite entertaining.
